It is powered by AC 230 V mains adaptor or DC 12 V car adaptor which is supplied along with the battery charger. Other than that, the unit is supplied with 4 x AA and 4 x AAA high capacity NiMH rechargeable batteries too. Timer protection safeguards the batteries in the event of over charging. For AA and AAA batteries, charge current is automatically selected. The LED displays rapid charge/trickle charge which delivers optimum performance. The charging rate is calculated as AA 320mA / AAA 120mA while at Trickle mode it is AAA / AA 20mA.
This unit requires a mains adaptor power supply of AC 230 V 50Hz and car adaptor supply of 12Vdc. Charge time varies with regard to the type and capacities of the batteries. That is, the unit requires a time of up to 2-3 hours for 600-900mAh, 4-5 hours for 1300-1600mAh, 6 hours for 1800-2000mAh and 7 hours for 2100-2500mAh all of AA size. In the case of AAA size, the charging time varies, that is up to 2-3 hours for 180-300mAh, 5-6 hours for 500-600mAh and 7 hours for 650-900mAh.
